Refunds

The race will take place rain or shine and entry fees are non-refundable.

Transfer (Runner to Runner)

  • Deadline: August 31, 2017

  • We are aware training injuries, family commitments and other unexpected situation pop-up in life.  Due to this, transfers will be accepted thru August 31, 2017.

  • Registration Transfer Fee: $20

  • To transfer your registration, the original runner must initiate the transfer by logging into their MyEvents.active account. Locate your registration for the Navy-Air Force Half Marathon or Navy 5-Miler and click on "transfer registration to another athlete." Enter the email address of the runner to whom you are transferring your registration.  The receiving runner will receive an email with a link to accept the transfer. The receiving runner will need to complete the registration information and pay for the new registration. Once the receiving runner completes the transfer process, the original runner will be refunded their registration fees in 5-7 business days. The $20 registration transfer fee will be deducted automatically from the refund. For example, if the original registrant paid $50 and the transfer fee is $20, he/she will be refunded $30.

  • Team Captains: Runners who are a team captain will need to contact us at NavyAirForceHalfMarathon@gmail.com and provide a name to assign as the new team captain before being able to transfer to another runner.

  • If you are registered before February 10th, and do not see the "Transfer registration to another athlete" option, or receive an error when attempting to transfer, please contact us at NavyAirForceHalfMarathon@gmail.com.

Event Transfer/Deferral

  • Deadline: September 14, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.

  • We are aware training injuries, family commitments and other unexpected situation pop-up in life.  Due to this, event transfer/deferrals will be accepted thru September 14, 2017.

  • Event Transfer/Deferral Fee: $30

  • Runners may defer his/her original registration to the following year's event only.

  • Deferring a registration cancels a runner's registration in the current year's event, and registers the runner for the next year's event.

  • Current year registration fees, that have already been paid, will be applied to the following year's event.

    • A partial refund will not be applied if the amount paid for the current year's event is higher than the amount for next year's event.

    • There will be an additional charge if the amount paid for the current year's event is less than the amount for next year's event.

    • Additional merchandise purchased during the current year registration process will not be cancelled, refunded, or transferred to the following year's event.

  • Runners are responsible for initiating the defferal process by logging into his/her MyEvents.active account, and locating his/her registration for the Navy-Air Force Half Marathon or Navy 5-Miler. Click on the "Transfer to Another Event" and select the next year's event and complete the process.

    • Team Captains: Runners who are a team captain will need to contact us at NavyAirForceHalfMarathon@gmail.com and provide a name to assign as the new team captain before being able to defer to the following year's event.

    • Team Members: Runners who are a member of a team, do not need to contact us, but will be removed from the team when he/she defers to the following year's event.

  • Upon completion, the runner will receive a confirmation email.

  • Once the deferral is complete, it cannot be reversed.

  • If you registered before February 10th, and do not see the "Transfer to Another Event" option, or receive an error when attempting to transfer, please contact us at NavyAirForceHalfMarathon@gmail.com.

Race Changes

To change your race from the half marathon to the 5-miler or vice versa, log into your MyEvents.active account. Locate your registration for the Navy-Air Force Half Marathon or Navy 5 Miler and click on "change event category." Select the new event category and complete the registration form.

  • Deadline: September 10, 2017

  • Half Marathon to 5-Miler: The difference in registration fees between the Half Marathon and 5-Miler will not be refunded.

  • 5-Miler to Half Marathon: There will be an additional fee to cover the difference between the 5-Miler and Half Marathon registration fees.

  • Team Captains: Runners who are a team captain will need to contact us at NavyAirForceHalfMarathon@gmail.com and provide a name to assign as the new team captain before being able to change the race.

  • If you registered before February 10th, and do not see the "Change Event Category" option, or receive an error when attempting to change your category, please contact us at NavyAirForceHalfMarathon@gmail.com.

Active Endurance: Registration Protection Program 

  • The Navy-Air Force Half Marathon has no involvement in the program.

  • The program is provided by a third-party. During registration, participants will have the option to purchase Registration Protection for a small fee. Any questions, concerns, or claims must be sent to the licensed producer and administrator of the plan.

  • If the athlete registered prior to April 5, 2017, the race insurance is through Allianz (https://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/contact-us.htm). Please contact them at 888-497-6989, or via email customerservice@allianzassistance.com.

  • If the athlete registered after April 5, 2017, the race insurance is through Booking Protect. Contact them through their website https://bookingprotect.com/contact-us/

Timelines

  • The Navy-Air Force Half Marathon and Navy 5-Miler adheres to a strict timeline for the start, on-course, and finish times of the event. The official race clock will be tracked by race officials. Announcements will be made as time nears the closing of the starting chutes. If you miss the start of your wave, you will not be allowed to start until the next wave. Half marathon participants who miss the half marathon start may join the 5-miler participants. It is the participant’s responsibility to be at the start of their wave. No refunds will be issued for missing the start.
